I came across these sack bins yesterday and immediately ordered a couple for the kids’ playroom. I mean, come on.

And might I add that their new playroom is shaping up to be pretty darn cute (at least I think so). There will be a whitewashed brick wall (loves), french doors leading out to the wrap around porch, and one of Studio Snowpuppe’s origami lights. So fun.
Along with some pretty garland for hanging…

And let’s not forget this RugsUSA prettiness too :)
The playroom will be on the first floor and right off of our main living area so it needs to be kinda tidy and pretty, unlike our current playroom which is total chaos… Moms, how do you keep kid’s spaces looking put together?

Alright, I’ve been really terrible about sharing the new home renovation progress, haven’t I? So I thought I’d share a few pictures I’ve snapped over the last couple of months…

As much as I love this fireplace in this dark gray, it will be painted another color (i think)- can’t wait to share it!

Lilly’s bath…

This Popham Design tile is happening :)

And in this pattern too, in a different location…

Gotta have some gas lanterns for my new wrap-around porch.

Some master bath tile. DYING over how this is turning out.
Brass prettiness…

Along with an incredible hood being built by my friend Aaron at Vogler Copperworks. This guy can build anything.

And a soaking tub is a must…

If you follow me on instagram then most all of these pictures are old news (you can find me there as looklingerlove). I share a lot on there. It’s my obsession. And I’ll try to be better about sharing the reno details here.

I had the pleasure of working with some talented ladies recently, and I wanna tell you all about them.

First up, Jess from Jess LC. She asked me (along with some other cool bloggers – they’re cool – not me) to help her out with her lookbook for her new tote collection. Josh snapped a few pictures outside of our house of my new kenzie fishy tote. So fun, Lilly has already claimed it as her own (I figured this would happen when I chose it).

As awkward as I look (and felt) taking these pictures, I do think that the bag looks great (and especially cute with my new Proud Mary scarf). Thanks for including me in your lookbook, Jess!

Next up, Anne Marie Cale wanted to design a dress for me. I was so game. We chose white because I had a white party coming up (that I sadly didn’t make it too). But now I have a cute white dress that I can wear this summer. The illustration…

And the dress…
Thanks so much Anne Marie!

Lastly, I just read this post about embracing the “Anti Bikini Season”. I really wish you all would go read this, takes maybe 2 minutes, and then remember it all summer. I promise I will.

Good Monday. I just got back into town from a quick weekend in Kentucky and Indiana visiting family. We had Fletcher’s baptism, ate a bunch of awesome food (I have zero self control btw), and enjoyed our time with family. It was so great. I need to get up there more often.

So today I’m super pumped to share this mood board space styled by Jen Ramos (aka Made By Girl). Jen’s aesthetic is right in line with mine – funky meets chic meets confident. And she’s been such a long time source of inspiration for me.

Jen styled a living room mood board around this piece of abstract art that I recently finished.

Thrive Abstract” $115 (Gouache + Ink 12 x 18)

I couldn’t be more thrilled with the way this space turned out. What do you think??

Did you spy Jen’s pretty Cocoa & Hearts painting in there too? It’s like they were meant to go together. Which thrills me to death because I totally think Jen’s art is gorgeous. She inspires, for sure. Thanks for sharing your take on my work, Jen! That’s a living room I could live in :)

While I was in NYC a couple of weeks ago I took a trip up to Lucky Magazine’s office. I had the pleasure of getting to know Lucky’s Digital Fashion News Editor, Elana Fishman, when she visited Charleston in March for Hampden Clothing’s 5 year anniversary (remember that celebration?). Well Elana was such a doll that I spent much of that 2 day event gabbing with her. We made plans to meet up during my trip last month, and it was great to catch up a little at her office.

{Sorry for the fuzziness. I have a better picture of her coming up.}

Just as I expected, Lucky’s halls are brimming with clothes. Overflowing really. It’s wonderful. All for the stylists to pull from for photoshoots and stories. Not a bad gig.
Like I said, Elana is the digital fashion news editor, and she was working on this Tiffany & Elsa Peretti story the day I popped in.

By the way, how great are her nails here??
Elana has worked with Teen Vogue, Self Magazine, Marie Claire, and even Jason Wu before coming to Lucky. Quite a resume! I foresee an incredible future for this girl. Smart, funny, considerate, sweet, aaand pretty? {You go and take on those NYC fashion bitches, Elana ;) We southern girls have your back!!}

It was such a fun morning up in the Conde Nast Building spying pretty clothes, talking fashion news, and grabbing lunch down in the cafeteria (unfortunately no Anna Wintour sightings to report). Thanks for showing us around, Elana! Looking forward to keeping up on all the style stories you bring!

I want to thank everyone who felt inspired by the “I’m Not A Poser” Challenge. It got such a great response, and I think from time to time we need to be reminded to get up and DO something that we are dreaming about.

So today I want to share just a few of the many submissions I received (I wish I could share them all!).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ll start off big. Sam decided to stop daydreaming about being an interior designer and took the leap and enrolled in design school. She’s working at a residential interior design firm while she studies too. Making her dream a reality. Go girl.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Eileen just needed a liiittle push (nothing like being called a poser, right?) to give a DIY jewelry tutorial a try. Check out this gorgeous Anthropologie’s Stormy Seas inspired necklace that she made!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jessamie noticed that a good portion of her pinterest boards had one key element, pink interiors. So she decided to start living her pins and add some pretty pretty pink to her living room. I love it, don’t you?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Emily has started incorporating the beautiful things she finds online into her real life in a series called, Inspired to Incorporated. What a great idea, she does outfits, hairstyles, recipes… you name it. Check out this example she did inspired by a net-a-porter outfit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Megan wanted to spruce up her daughter Madison’s bedroom. She enlisted the help of her mother in law and made this gorgeous pelmet box for the window. She also painted that beautiful abstract art (she’s an artist but usually sticks to figurative pieces). Awesome job, Megan! Madison is a lucky girl.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Julia decided to step out of her comfort zone of neutrals and bring some color and excitement to her office. So she recovered her chair and painted up some pretty art! Gorgeous, don’t you think?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last month, Anna made time for a past hobby of hers and painted a canvas inspired by Cocoa and Hearts. The color and movement in the piece put such a smile on my face. I think it’s the perfect addition to her breakfast nook!
Aren’t these ladies inspiring?! Thank so much for sharing your projects with us.
