The thing about a happy marriage is that you can get pretty comfortable. I know, this is a good thing. But after a few years and a couple of kids your once soft body has gotten even… softer.

Wait. Just me? In all honesty I’m happy with myself, for real. But I also know that I’d be way more pumped about hanging by the pool and going to the beach if I were a little more toned. I had a gentle reminder of this when trying on shorts (shorts!) a few days ago. Dang. So perhaps what I need is some shopping motivation. Nothing like a swimsuit to do that. Then maybe I’ll feel motivated to try a little harder, yes? I mean, it’s worth a shot ;)

So should I play it safe with another one piece?

Also really loving the simplicity (and color options) of this Tulle Bandeau Tank.

Or maybe I should dare for a new bikini. Please note how, different, the Victoria Secret image is from the others…

I must admit as much as I adore all of these I’m also especially drawn to this Mara Hoffman bikini.

And Zimmerman’s entire swim collection, like these two.

Alright. So my mind is absolutely everywhere. I really thought I’d get more focused in on one or two suits by writing this post. Not the case.

Regardless, a good cover-up is a must since I may not take it off in the first place…

And I feel like this shirttail dress would be perfect for the beach, lunch, and all around summer living. Love love.
Y’all know I have a pool in my backyard, right? Pressure’s on.

First and last images are from Urban Outfitter’s spring swim collection. You might wanna check out the whole page of suits. While some are pretty sketchy, some are down right girly fabulous.

How ’bout a Monday brain dump?

I stopped into Anthropologie last Friday and fell head over heels for this Sail Away Skirt. Super slimming, and has lots of sway to it.

I love clothing that doesn’t take itself too seriously, these boats are just fun.

I have also spent ample amounts of my weekend swooning over the sneak peek of J.Crew’s Spring 2013 Lookbook that you can now pre-order from. Gah, I mean that little citrus yellow dress, and everything else, outta be mine.

On Saturday Lilly got to hang out with her bestie, Farris, at the food truck festival downtown. The lines were freaking unreal and stupid long, but the girls didn’t seem to mind. They enjoyed sampling each of the dozen doughnuts we got. Note, never turn your head when your 3 year old has a box of donuts in front of them…
Today I’m taking a favorite pair of shoes to the repair shop to get resoled (they’re from last year but here is a similar pair). I told y’all I invest in my stuffs :)
If you’re looking for a good book to read, may I suggest Grace. I know tons of bloggers are talking about it but I wanted to give you my two cents too. Josh got this for me for Christmas (all on his own, I never mentioned it to him) and I finally got around to reading it a week ago. It was a really interesting and fun book to read.
I forgot to share some of my favorite business cards from Alt with you. The creativity behind the cards there was freaking mind-blowing, and a ton of the cards came with little gifts too!! Everyone pinned their card on their home city – such a fun idea. Here are just a few that stuck out to me.

Oh fine, let’s take one more little look at J.Crew’s new look book. I die die die a little over those gilded brocade capris. And that floral clutch.

In case you were busy living your lives this weekend, I actually posted on both Saturday and Sunday so go check them out if you missed.

So are you all on Vine yet? Ummmm yeah it’s going to be addicting, I can tell already. It’s fun to follow friends and it’s not all too time consuming b/c all the videos are super short, like no longer than 6 seconds. I think most everyone is still in the “trying it out phase”, so jump on in and don’t be shy. I’d hold off on going on a “following spree” though, unless you want 5 million trillion videos of kids and pets in your feed all day. Not that this is bad thing :)

It makes me nervous to share video of myself, but it’s fun to do things that scare you, right? Here I am at J.Crew Friday morning!

I came home with the little tee but am still thinking about that poppy tweed jacket!

If you want to watch me make a fool of myself look me up under “looklingerlove”!

Here’s one last video. This pretty much sums up my home.

What? It’s not like this at your house? We’re definitely not one of those families that prohibits running, shouting, car riding and the like (yep, I ride around on the plasma car too!) :)

What are you making for Superbowl? I’m admittedly not a football fan at all (what, you’re surprised?). But I do like to have something awesome to munch on. I haven’t decided what I’m making yet but here are a few favorite dishes.

Apple Nachos (great for kids!)
So. Who knows who’s playing?

Anyone else? It’s all I can think about. January’s over. Charleston has been a straight up tease with some sunny 70 degree days. And all of my favorite stores are tempting me their new spring arrivals.

Okay, those blushy pink palm pants are ah-freaking-mazing!! So, so good. Though depending how they’d look on, I might consider having them taken in a bit so they’re not so flowy. And that little knit pocket tank needs to be mine, too. Oh and the heels. The little metallic heels!! Perfect little day shoe when you can’t manage a full on heel, as I was oh so kindly reminded of in SLC.
So are you all doing anything fun this weekend? We’re going bowling with friends and hitting up the food truck festival, too. Do you have any big Superbowl plans? I’ll pop in tomorrow with some favorite recipes. Happy Friday.
