Happy Tuesday! It’s been awhile since I’ve shared a Life Lately post so here we go… there are a lot of pictures and this is not in a specific order…

We kicked of Spoleto season this weekend with two fun events. The first was Old Crow Medicine Show at the Cistern. We had dinner with our friends Charlotte and Haskell and husbands before the show. Excuse my one legged photo.

The next night Josh and I went to the Spoleto Soiree at the new Dewberry Hotel downtown. It’s absolutely beautiful and ideally located! And the party was SO MUCH FUN.

And of course lots of family and friends time took place this weekend (+ a sleepover)…

I can’t believe I’m going back this far, but we went back to Harbour Island for a quick trip last month. So much fun!

The Southern C Summit came to town and it was SO much fun! I spoke on a panel (I got to moderate!) with my blogging friends Grace, Liz (both pictured here), and Caroline about our experiences blogging and I think it went over really well.

For Mother’s Day weekend we headed down to Palmetto Bluff for an extra long weekend with Josh’s parents. Pure bliss. I love it there so much.

The kids were so excited b/c the locker rooms at the pool have pre-pasted toothbrushes. Really though, they were.

Oh, forgot to add this most amazing Southern C Summit dinner hosted by Tara Guerard. It was so beautiful. These two pics were taken by Lucy Cuneo.

I finished Emily Giffin’s new book (due out next month) called First Comes Love. It is so good! And I’m so excited that she’s coming to Charleston next month for a girl getaway event! I have read every single one of her books and she is honestly my favorite author. I’m thrilled to join her at the event and help open it up with a chat and interview! It will be so much fun. Check out all of the details and get your tickets right here!

Happy Memorial Day! I’m sharing one of my outfits I wore while in San Juan, PR a week ago! When I saw this white popover shirt at J.Crew Factory I had to have it. I got it in navy last summer so now I have it in two colors. Such an easy top to throw on, and it’s only $30.

Tonight we are heading to the Spoleto Soiree at the new Dewbury Hotel downtown. So excited to see it!

Back in early February I asked my friend Jess at Bare Beauty Blog to help me come up with a skincare regime that would be great for my skin. Not only is Jess THE go to girl for any green beauty question, but she’s also extremely knowledgable on cystic acne, which is something I’ve suffered on and off from for many, many years. While it’s been under control the last couple of years I’m very weary of trying new products. But considering that I’m getting older, plus the desire to use cleaner and safer products, I knew it was time to make a change.

Since Jess knows about acne prone skin (and is a green beauty expert) I knew she’d be the one to trust. She recently shared this on her blog…

“After having near-perfect skin my entire life, I went off the pill, turned 30 and had a miscarriage, and soon after, I was plagued with out-of-nowhere hormonal cystic acne. It covered my cheeks, and each boil had it’s own throbbing heartbeat. My face hurt, and my confidence took a real beating, too. I wasn’t excited to go out anymore, and I didn’t even want my husband to see me without my makeup on. I tried so many different skin care lines, and many were great, but none totally rectified the problem. My dermatologist (whom I love) recommended a number of prescription medications, but I refused to subject myself to harsh, dangerous chemicals, plus I was trying to become pregnant, so that was not at all an option for me.”

“Fast forward: after 2.5 years of constant cystic acne, I was getting desperate. I cut out dairy (which does work wonders), and I even (begrudgingly) went back on the Pill. It still wasn’t enough. Just when I was about to lose hope, Kevin from True Botanicals reached out to me and offered to send some samples of their new Advanced Anti Aging Kit for Blemish Prone Skin. It sounded too good to be true; products that fight both the first signs of aging as well as acne. I grilled poor Kevin on the ingredients in each product; I think we talked on the phone for almost two hours one day! I decided to give True Botanicals a try. Two weeks later, my skin started to clear. A month later, my acne was…gone. That was over 1.5 years ago. I’ve since gone back off the Pill, and my skin is still totally clear.”

IMG_0820

Amazing, right? Now, it’s worth noting that I’ve seen Jess in all these stages (we used to bump into each other at the dermatologist here in Charleston!). Today her face is clear and beautiful. In fact, while we were at our annual girl retreat in Kiawah this past February I couldn’t stop staring at her amazing skin. So I asked her for help finding a skincare line that is safe and anti-aging. Of course she knew that True Botanicals would be perfect for me. As soon as she emailed me the list of products she recommended for me I immediately clicked over and bought them all up.

IMG_0817

So I’ve been using True Botanicals for over 3 months and have seen a very real change! My skin is brighter, hydrated, plumper, and much more even. I’ve had numerous friends and family members comment on the change! I originally started with the Pacific Cleanser, Pacific Balancing Face Oil, Pacific Night Serum with Retinol + the Pacific Topical Vitamin C Treatment, and the Pacific Everyday Sheer Coverage. Cannot recommend these products enough. All of them. Since then True Botanicals has sent more more of their amazing products to try and I can honestly say that there is not one product that I have not liked a loved. I especially love the Pacific Exfoliating Moisture Mask and the Pacific Mist!

IMG_0821

True Botanicals uses glass bottles for all of their products to optimize the freshness and potency of their ingredients. And they spare no expense when it comes to the ingredients in their products. They never ever use any toxins.

IMG_0822

You can take 15% off your True Botanicals orders now through May 30th 11:59 PST with the code “LOOKLINGERLOVE15” (offer not combinable with other offers)! If you were to try just a few products I can’t say enough about the Pacific Cleanser, the Balancing Face Oil, and the Night Serum with Retinol + the Topical Vitamin C Treatment (you mix the vitamin c capsule powder with a few pumps of the night serum). Please let me know how you like the line :)

PS I highly recommend you check out Bare Beauty Blog :)
