One of Charleston’s favorite past times is gathering for a good party. We love to sit and visit. Sometimes we throw it together and t’s super casual, and other times we put on the ritz. And very few put on the ritz as well as my friend Calder Clark!

Calder & Mrs. John L. Strong (Manhattan’s notorious & century old stationer) threw a beautiful dinner party at Sarah Hamlin Hasting’s amazing home (look back at her home tour here) to celebrate the stationer’s expansion to Charleston!

I love this floral piece below, and when I mentioned it to Calder she said that a beautiful antique sculpture like this is just poised (and literally made) for fresh blooms.

These passed trays of homemade truffles by Cru Catering was my most favorite part of the dinner :) What a cute idea!

More pictures and entertaining tips from this dinner are featured on Veranda Magazine. Mrs. John L. Strong’s collection is available at Fritz Porter, Sarah Hamlin Hasting’s design store located in downtown Charleston.
