On Saturday I hosted a small luncheon for some of my girl friends in our courtyard. Sort of a “hooray it’s officially warm” kind of celebration. Anthropologie partnered with me on the tabletop collection, which is pretty much what dreams are made of. I’ve always been a big fan of Anthropologie, but especially their home and entertaining collections. Did y’all know that they now offer a registry? I mean, where was that when I got married?!!

When I chose my dinnerware collection I went with a mix and match sort of arrangement. It’s something I have wished that I would have done with my wedding china. Anthropologie offers so many great dinnerware patterns in their Dining & Entertaining section that it made it really fun and easy to mix a few collections together.

In the image above you see the Forbury Dinnerware, Vika Sky Flatware, and the Idyllic Stripe Table Runner. I love how the gold flatware pairs with the yellows in all of my plates. I’ve been eyeing gold flatware sets for awhile, and I really love these! They have a nice, simple shape, the shade of gold is beautiful, and they’re dishwasher safe.

Caviar & Bananas is one of my favorite restaurants and catering companies here in Charleston so it was a no brainer to give them a call for menu help (they also did such an amazing job at my last lady luncheon). I highly recommend everything, but especially their kale salad, chicken salad croissants, and the mini chocolate tarts with sea salt.

I tapped my close friend Jackie Robinson of 42 Pressed to help me with the place cards and menus. The menu card is blind debossed and the gold painted place card tucked in right behind it. So fun! Obviously place cards and menus aren’t necessary at a lunch with good friends, but I think that sometimes it’s nice to include extra elements to make your guests feel special. Y’all know I love details. Plus, it avoids the whole “where should I sit” conundrum.

In the image above I’ve paired the Ruffled Rim dinner plate with a Cliveden side plate, and then of course the gold flatware and stripe runner.

Do you love marble & wooden serving boards as much as I?

The image above shows the Cliveden Dinnerware. All of these patterns look so great mixed together, I couldn’t be happier.

So the whole point is – make up a reason (even if it’s a silly one) to invite your friends over and then actually follow through with it. Yes, going out to lunch and dinner is fun, but it’s even more special when it’s hosted in a home. Don’t you agree? When it’s in a home it can carry on for 5 hours (like this one here did), and that’s just good fun! And I highly recommend browsing Anthropologie’s entertaining collection because it’s spilling over with pretty things that you can mix in with what you already have.
