Are you all out braving the shops?  I generally don’t partake in the after Thanksgiving sales in stores, but will happily browse the internet for marked down finds.  I think I’d like to acheive this look.  So charming.

I also have a question for my Mommas.  We’re considering a fake tree (gasp!) this year considering Lilly’s curious nature.  Any thoughts or suggestions?  I have some scented pinecones and also some fresh tree trimmings in a vase which are helping to keep my home smelling festive.

We just put up our first fake tree. My husband said he feels like we’ve commited a crime by going fake, but we did so b/c our little ones had a lot of allergy trouble last year with the real tree. And I do like that I can put it up early and not have to deal with a dried out tree by Christmas!

Just found your blog last week – love! My baby girl just turned 2 and last year I was worried about sharp pine needles and falling on the floor (for her to try to eat!) so we bit the bullet and got an artificial tree. I figure we’ll use it for a few years, it’s a lovely tree, and you can always use greenery in baby safe places:)

Real tree!!!! My daughter is almost 2 and she loves it. They r more interested in the ornaments anyways… And of course you will use those whether it’s fake or real! Plus….it’s such a fun tradition to go pick out your tree every year!! Even if it is the lowes parking lot ;)

  4. I know it’s a tough pill to swallow – I still fret over it – but I promise that the faux tree is the way to go! It is SO MUCH less worrisome with small children. Plus, the Frontgate ones (while $$$) fool *everyone.* You can always get real garlands and wreaths to have the evergreen smell!

  5. I think you could go either way with the tree. The faux trees are less of a mess and you can have it up as long as you want without it drying out and dropping a lot of needles. There are some really good ones on the market now that look real. I still prefer a real tree in my own home. I love the way it smells.

I am your newest follower. We have a fake tree and the only reason I have one is because I like to put it up early and the real ones die by Christmas. They really make good quality ones now but there is something to be said for having a real tree. xo

p.s. I am having a $50 Pottery barn e-card giveaway if it’s of interest to you.

We have had a fake tree for the past 3 years and honestly, it’s been awesome! They are so realistic looking now and you don’t have to worry about a dried out tree being a fire hazard. I got so tired of pine needles dropping everywhere and you can’t put the tree up too early or it would look bad. I would never go back now. The artificial trees have come such a long way.

I would say go with the real tree. My daughter is 2 and we have questioned the real tree with her but she loves it and you just can’t beat that smell of Christmas!

I just posted some “Favourite things” that might be fun for the holiday season!
